Castle View Band Booster Club Meeting
Wednesday, September 7, 2022
Jen Dobosz, president, called the meeting to order at 6:02 pm. Mark Cellar, director, and Valeri Boswell, treasurer, Meagan Feger, vice president, Amy Bodfield, co-treasurer, were present. Members/Parents Janet and Mike Ulrich were present. Kristin Teuscher, secretary, was absent. The agenda was presented and accepted.
Meeting minutes
Motion was made and accepted to approve August 2022 minutes.
Treasurer’s Report
Month’s end August 31, 2022, balance was $16,676.28. Ending balance as of September 7 is $18,697.78. There is $7,006 in outstanding checks bringing the ending balance to $11,691.78.
Amy will confirm if BSN check is for first or second apparel store.
Activity card sales total $1,200 to date.
Motion was made and accepted to approve report.
Fundraisers
Fan Angel came to $7,077 not including fees.
Palisade Peach sales grossed $8,279 compared to $9,100 in 2021. Top sales were Sarah Hutchings, Ethan Bodfield, Abby Feger.
Band program will conduct the Butter Braid fundraiser in Oct/Nov. This will fund the band budget.
Spirit nights are being scheduled by Kristen Teuscher with a goal of one per month. IHOP in October and Dickey’s in November are scheduled. The Smart Cow fundraiser was Tuesday, 9/6. We will communicate that all fundraisers will require mentioning CV Bands at checkout for credit.
Additional fundraising continues through Amazon wish list, Amazon Smile, and King Soopers loyalty card.
Donate button on CV Band Booster website for sound system expansion is also listed.
Marching Band preparations
Meals – 9/10: sandwiches for dinner at 5:15, chips/snacks/dessert donated; 9/14: students will use concessions for meal, parents are scheduled for snacks/dessert; 9/17: dinner at 6:15, parents are scheduled for snacks/dessert
Pit Crew is scheduled with just a few competitions needing additional volunteers. All times reported on Charms; Mark is working on sending an email to all parents.
Meagan and Amy will check uniforms at Harrison to ensure all pants are snapped. Students will be informed to use care when putting on bibs. Uniforms will be cleaned week of 9/19.
Lisa Hutchings has ideas to share on crowd engagement to engage audience. She will share those with Jen.
We will not sell cards at DC game due to ticket presale. Jen will send an email to families to encourage additional sales.
CV Bands is assigned to concessions for Homecoming. We will invite alumni to help with concessions via email and Facebook.
Other Business
Gala – Night at the Movies, Saturday, April 29, 5p-9p in CVHS cafeteria. We will discuss scheduling the first meeting at the October Booster Club meeting
The next club meeting will be October 5 at 6:00pm in the CV Band Room. Club meetings are the first Wednesday of every month at 6:00pm.
