Jen Dobosz, President, called the meeting to order at 5:06 PM. Mark Cellar, Director, Jen
Dobozs, President, Leigh Wright, Vice President, Valeri Boswell, Treasurer, and Gloria Kim,
Secretary were present.
Previous meeting notes were approved by Jen and seconded by Mark
The agenda was presented and accepted.
1. Treasurer’s Report - Valeri Boswell
Balance as of end of March: $17,349.58
Balance as of today: $17,876.02
Peaches check has not yet cleared - after check clears, remaining balance $11,957.02
a. Misc Payments
WP fees - one student asked for help on half of fees ($150). We need to communicate in the
future that any requests for help need to come before WP begins, not after the season is over.
At that point students have been able to fully participate without paying
b. Applebees
We had to cancel because we only sold 17 tickets, which was significantly less than what we
needed. It may be a good idea to avoid spring and pick another time in the school year, so it
doesn’t conflict with the gala and other activities (WP and Guard)
c. Town Grant application coming up
Town Grant application is due on 5/20. Jen to forward information to board to fill out application
2. Spirit Nights
We should look into spirit nights for the summer months
We want a restaurant for May - should look into Granelli’s. It’s been popular in the past,
especially when families can sit outside on the patio Want drinks/ice cream for the summer
months (June/July) - Coldstone, Smart Cow, boba, etc.
3. Gala
1a. Tickets - 98 tickets as of today
b. Catering orders
Need to send out emails/band app message making sure that all ticket purchasers pick their
dinner menu option to provide to the caterer. Need to get catering orders by this Friday
c. Decor/Planning
Good to start setup at 9 AM on Saturday
d. Next committee tomorrow!
Have Collin or a student invite Mrs. Romanello
Send email to Dr. Templeton to see what she wants for dinner
There is a need for childcare this year. There are at least 3 children coming
Need pizza for 50-52 students
4. Other Items
Next Year Fundraising: Mark would like to do Fan Angel again at the beginning of the school
year. Colorado Gives did not raise enough money against student fees
Solo & Ensemble Festival: Students will need to pay via MySchoolBucks. They should NOT
send money to the band venmo, since the boosters will not handle payments.
Students should arrive 30-45 minutes early to warm up prior to their performance
Students Next Year:
Marching/Guard - have about 57 students next year
Note, middle school kids can’t participate in high school band. They are required to do middle
school band first.
Mattress Fundraiser: Will take place at the end of band camp (Aug 2)
The parent meeting will be at the end of band camp
Leigh suggested that it might be a good idea to do food trucks at the mattress fundraiser to help
raise additional money. There are some concerns that there isn’t enough foot traffic, other than
people who already know about the fundraiser, that will come and eat at the food trucks
Band Trip:
Parent Meeting for Disney - probably zoom call on April 29
